Short answers

Questions people ask before a Magnetic Hill weekend

The fifteen questions our desk hears most, with short answers and a link where there is more to say. Every answer rests on a published source, listed at the foot of the page.

If your question is not here, ask it in the room request form below, or write to hello@magnetichillweekend.com. We would rather check with the hotel than guess.

How old do you have to be to stay at the Hotel at Casino New Brunswick?

The person who makes the reservation and checks in must be 19 or older, with valid government-issued photo ID. Children can stay with their family.

Can children eat at the hotel?

Not at The Buffet or Hub City Pub: both are on the casino floor, which is 19+ under New Brunswick law. There is no room service at this time, so families plan meals off-site. See eating on site.

Is parking free?

Yes. Parking is complimentary and included in the room rate. At check-in you give your car's make, model and licence plate number.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in begins at 4 p.m. and check-out is by 11 a.m. Earlier or later times are possible only if the hotel can arrange them, and may cost extra.

How far is the Magnetic Hill from the hotel?

About 1.4 km by road, and the Magnetic Hill Zoo about 2.2 km, by our own OpenStreetMap measurement. The hill is open from May to September only.

How far are the Hopewell Rocks?

About 48 km by road by our measurement. The park's 2027 season runs from May 14 to October 24. Plan the trip.

Does the hotel have a pool?

Yes, the operator lists a pool and a gym. Children under 12 must be supervised by someone 16 or older. Hours are posted at the facility.

Is there a spa?

The operator does not publish a spa name, menu or hours, so we cannot confirm one. Ask our desk and we will check for your dates.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes: up to two cats or dogs per room, each up to 50 lb, for $40 a night. Pets cannot be left alone in the room. See bringing the dog.

Are concerts at the Molson Canadian Centre all ages?

The venue welcomes all ages unless a specific event's ticket information says otherwise. Children 24 months and under go free on an adult's lap.

Where do I buy concert tickets?

Only through Ticketmaster, the venue's sole authorized seller, or at the box office, which opens 90 minutes before show-time and on select weekdays.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel 24 hours before arrival, or by 4 p.m. the day before, to avoid a penalty. Prepaid reservations are not refundable.

Is this the hotel's official website?

No. Magnetic Hill Weekend is an independent guide with a room-request desk. The official page is on greatcanadian.com.

Does sending a request book a room?

No. Our desk checks availability and the rate and replies by email. Nothing is booked or charged until you accept a confirmed offer.

Where can I get help with gambling in New Brunswick?

Call 1-800-461-1234 for free, confidential information; the province says help and services are offered by the Department of Health. There is also a Responsible Gaming Information Centre at the casino, telephone 506-861-4699.
