About Magnetic Hill Weekend

A small independent guide to one hotel and the weekend around it, started in 2026. Not the hotel, not its operator, and not paid by either to write about it.

What this site is

We cover one hotel: the Hotel at Casino New Brunswick in Moncton. We look at it the way a family or a pair of friends planning a weekend would: what the rooms are like, what the rules are, how to get there, and what to do on the Magnetic Hill side of town and beyond. Alongside the guide, we run a small desk that passes room requests to the hotel or a booking partner and replies with an offer.

How we research

Every fact on the site comes from a source we read, and each page lists its sources with the date we checked them. We prefer, in order: the hotel's own pages and those of its operator; government and regulator pages; the City of Moncton, NB Parks and other official venues; and only then secondary sources like Wikipedia, which we label as secondary. When a source does not publish something — pool hours, a spa menu, the number of floors — we say so instead of filling the gap.

Distances on this site are our own measurements on OpenStreetMap routing, given as "about", and we say so each time. Driving times change with traffic and weather, so for real-time routes we link to Google Maps.

What we do not do

We do not publish invented reviews, guest quotes or star ratings. We do not use photographs of the hotel that we have no rights to; the artwork on the site is illustration, labelled as such. We do not write about casino games, offers or loyalty schemes, and we do not encourage gambling.

Corrections

Hotels change their policies; parks change their seasons. If you spot something out of date or wrong, write to hello@magnetichillweekend.com with a link to the source if you have one. We correct errors promptly and note the change on the page.

Room request · three short steps

Ask our desk for a room

Our desk checks availability and the rate for your dates with the hotel or a booking partner and replies by email. We never ask for card details, and nothing is booked until you accept.

1 · Who is coming
2 · Dates and room
3 · Your plans

Thank you — it reached our desk. We check what the hotel can offer for your dates and reply by email, usually within one business day. Nothing is booked or charged until you say yes to a confirmed offer.

We earn a commission from the hotel or its booking partner only when a request sent here becomes a confirmed stay — never a fee from you. How we get paid.
