A November weekend at Magnetic Hill Park

November is the in-between month here. Two of the big outdoor draws are closed, and yet a weekend can be full. Here is how we would plan one.

What is closed

Start with the disappointments, so they do not catch you out. The Magnetic Hill Illusion is closed from October to December, says the City, and using the hill in winter conditions is prohibited. The Hopewell Rocks are out of season: NB Parks lists the next season as May 14 to October 24, 2027, and says entering when the park is closed is strictly prohibited. Magic Mountain, the water park, showed every October 2026 day as closed on its hours calendar.

What is open

The Magnetic Hill Zoo keeps going. On November 1–2, 5–9, 12–16 and 19–23, it opens 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the autumn prices are lower than summer: $13 for adults aged 19 to 59, $10 for children aged 3 to 12, free for under-3s. Then, from November 27, Wild Lights takes over the evenings, with doors at 5 p.m. and hundreds of thousands of lights across the zoo's 40 acres.

The Molson Canadian Centre has a busy month. The operator's listings for November 2026 include Owen Riegling on the 7th, BlackHawk with David Lee Murphy on the 13th, Roch Voisine on the 26th, Dean Brody and The Reklaws on the 27th, and Noël En Acadie, an all-ages holiday show, on the 28th.

Downtown, the tidal bore arrives twice a day whatever the season, the Moncton Market opens every Saturday until 2 p.m., and the Magnetic Hill Wharf Village announced Christmas on the Wharf from November 12 to December 5.

A plan for the last weekend of November

If you can choose your dates, the weekend of November 27 to 29 lines up the most: Wild Lights starts on Friday the 27th, there is a concert that night, Noël En Acadie plays on Saturday the 28th, and Christmas on the Wharf should still be running.

November packing

  • Warm, waterproof layers for the zoo by day and by night
  • Hats and mittens for children
  • Swimsuits — the pool is the best November afternoon
  • Breakfast supplies for the room

November is also a good month for room choice: summer family traffic is gone. If you want a particular room type, especially a suite with a view, this is the time to ask.
